Seventy years of raising seedlings
Sanko Kagaku Co., Ltd. was founded in 1956. For seven decades we have worked with Japanese growers on raising and transplanting seedlings — most closely in Hokkaido's green onion districts, where we have long provided hands-on cultivation guidance alongside the Chainpot, helping build up the growing region itself.
We began exporting in 2014 and today supply growers and distributors worldwide — including the USA, Australia, China and the EU.
A material with a long track record
The Chainpot has been used in Japanese vegetable and flower growing for many years. Each pot is made of special paper and joined in a chain so that a whole chain of 264 seedlings can be raised together and transplanted in one pass — pot and all, without disturbing the roots.
Paired with the no-power hand transplanter, it gives small and medium-scale growers a fast, low-cost, low-maintenance way to plant — and a biodegradable pot that returns to the soil.
